The cast list for Pymatuning Valley’s production of “Guys and Dolls” has been announced. Leading roles are held by Jake Sabeh (Sky Masterson), Emily Somerville (Sergeant Sarah Brown), Tiffany Payne (Miss Adelaide), and Alex Jones (Nathan Detroit). Other major singing roles are held by Matt Lautanen (Nicely Nicely Johnson), David Sluder (Benny), and Zach Jones (Rusty Charlie).
Supporting cast members include: David Anderson as Arvide, Justin Dye as Harry The Horse, and Keshia White as General Cartright. Lt. Brannigan will be acted by Raymond Nevison. Students playing Hot Box Dancers include Jesica Groff, Tiffany Lanzara, Taylor Girard, Tabitha Goodman, Cassandra Orahood, Emily Miller, Tessa Ault, Julia Fink, Caza Hazlett, Kat Sumner, Laura Corson, and Laura Copeland.
Members of the standout PV wrestling team will be featured this year as crapshooters in the show. These include Cody Conley, Tyler Gentry, Jake (Smurf) Wright, and Chuck Crowther. Other crapshooters include Richard Slusher, Brad DeHaven, Michael Bailey, and Nick Marshall (who also plays Joey Biltmore). Big Jule will be played by David Baker.
Members of the Mission Band Choir include Rebecca Jordan (Agatha), Austin Blair (Corporal), Courtney Jones, Alicia Parker, Sara Lupold, and Kayla Kirby.
Student assistant to the director is Justin Dye.
The show is set in New York City and Havana, Cuba and promises an evening of light-hearted fun. The story was originally conceived by Damon Runyan and tbook was written by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows. Featuring music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, some of the more well-known songs include “Luck Be A Lady Tonight,” “I’ve Never Been In Love Before”, and “More I Cannot Wish You”.
“Guys and Dolls” is being produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International 421 West 54th Street, New York, NY and will be performed at the PV Veteran’s Memorial Performing Arts Center on March 26, 27, and 28. For ticket information, call PV High School at 293-6263.
